We have three goals for Vacation Bible School: that everyone will…
LEARN ABOUT JESUS
Below you can find some information we think will be helpful. We’ve tried to answer as many questions as possible, but if you think of a question we haven’t answered yet, feel free to contact us using the form below or call or text us at the church office at 334.937.0080.
What will my child do at VBS?
Each night your child will get to sing and dance, eat a tasty meal, make a fun craft, play some games, and hear a story from the Bible. As you can tell, each night will be jam-packed with fun!
How much does it cost?
What will my child learn?
“We will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.” (Psalm 78:4)
At VBS your child will learn first and foremost how great and wonderful God is. They will learn more about who He is and what He has done, most especially in sending His Son Jesus to save us from our sins.
Your child will also learn what God says about us, how we are all made in His image, how we all have sinned, and how we all need to receive the pardon He has offered us through Jesus.
Finally, we aim to teach children about God’s plan for telling this good news to all the peoples of the world, and how He calls us to be a part of that big plan of showing His love to all nations.
What ages can participate?
Children from Pre-K (4 yrs old) to 6th Grade will be welcome to adventure with us at VBS. Of course, your child will be grouped with other children in his or her age group, and each group will have its own dedicated, responsible leaders.
What if my child has special needs?
What's on the menu?
Each night we will have a free supper for everyone participating in VBS. Closer to time, we will post a menu here, but if your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know when you pre-register.
Will you receive an offering?
Yes, we will receive an offering at VBS, but we want you to know two important things:
- No one is under any obligation to give; it is entirely voluntary.
- We won’t keep any of the money that your child gives; we’re going to give it all away!
This year’s offering will support Joey & Esther Faulkner, who are raising funds to go to Ecuador with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelization (ABWE). The first night of VBS we will send detailed information home with your child.
Where will I drop off & pick up my child?
Why do you want people to pre-register?
We want to be as prepared as possible so that VBS can go smoothly both for the children attending, and for the volunteers who are working to make it happen. Having a general idea in advance of who might be coming helps us plan, especially in terms of food preparation and class sizes. It also helps us make arrangements for any children with dietary restrictions or special needs so that we make sure we meet our goal of having every child be safe, have fun, and learn about Jesus.
If I don't pre-register my child(ren), can they still attend VBS?
Yes, of course! We will have volunteers on site ready to take down the necessary information; pre-registration is just a courtesy to help us be most prepared.
How much does it cost to pre-register?
Can I pre-register more than one child at once?
What if my child is not in school yet?
If your child is 4 to 5 years old and has not gone to Kindergarten yet, you can mark the “Pre-K” option when you pre-register him or her. Our nursery (for children under 4 years old) is only for children of people who are volunteering at VBS.
