The life of a Christian is one of repentance. Spiritual life begins when we, by God’s grace and help, turn from sin and turn to the Lord. And repentance then becomes a lifelong pattern of returning to the Lord by His help. God is always inviting us to come home, to return to the paths of righteousness in which He wants to lead us. And every invitation is a promise—He promises to enable us to return to Him, and He promises to show us mercy when we do. In Him the orphan finds mercy. The question, “Will we respond to His invitation? Or will we harden our hearts and be pulled further into the chaos that sin brings to our lives?” This sermon was preached on February 21, 2021.
