Every one of us experiences life events that leave us feeling disoriented and overwhelmed. And our temptation is often to hunker down, hoping for things to go back to normal. But what if God wants more for us than simply waiting until the trouble passes? What if He is wanting to teach us something and sanctify us in the midst of the trouble itself? The book of Joel begins with a call for God’s people to wake up, to be alert to what God is doing, and to respond rightly. This sermon was preached on February 28, 2021.
